We never read your email
Tracking an email doesn't require access to your mailbox — so we don't ask for it.
What TrackMy.Email can see
- When an email you sent was opened, and how many times
- Which tracked links were clicked (Pro)
- The subject and recipients of emails you choose to track
- Your name and email address, if you sign in
What we can't see
- Your inbox, or any email you receive
- The body of any email — we never store it
- Your contacts, calendar or Drive
- Anything in Gmail you did not choose to track
The Google permissions we use
Google classifies app permissions as non-sensitive, sensitive or restricted. We use only non-sensitive ones.
| Part of TrackMy.Email | Google permission | What it allows |
|---|---|---|
| Chrome extension | None | Nothing in your Google account |
| Sign in | Your name and email address | Knowing who you are |
| Gmail add-on | Compose action (non-sensitive) | Inserting the tracker into the email you are writing, when you tap the button |
| Sheets add-on | Current spreadsheet only (non-sensitive) | Writing your report into the sheet you have open |
Some email trackers request Google's restricted "full mailbox" permission, which lets an app read, send and permanently delete all of your email. We never will.
